Greetings and Salutations once again to another Poetry Side Quest.
I wanted to take a slight detour for my subscribers and anyone who sees these posts to know my plans regarding this substack.
The posts will always be available for all subscriber types, both Paid and Free. I’m not going to ever paywall the posts. I may decide to paywall audio of me reading the poetry (if I can get over my stage fright). I may also set up Q&As in the chat area for paid subscribers. It just depends on the situation when paid subs get turned on. But I write and share here for me and feedback.
I want to share my voice and hear from you when my poetry or other writings land or if they crash and burn. How can I improve if no one commented because no one read what I wrote because they didn’t pay for the privilege? So putting up a wall there doesn’t work for me. If/When I turn on paid subs, do not feel obligated, upgrade only if you want to support my writing, otherwise a simple like, comment, and share/restack are all I would ask.
This writing is my voice and I will not mute my roar in exchange for the green. The only paywall will be when I finally get a chapbook or collection put together for publishing, you would have to pay for that.
So without further ado, enjoy this week’s poetry!!
Begging for Scraps Purpose - Are we artists or whores? Yearning to share our voice in any medium or Working the algorithm for a paycheck? Allowing ourselves to be hidden in exchange for jingling change Locked behind the barrier Lost and not found by our fellows. More Made to allow life’s survival Only given out under duress Never in the hands of the needy Evil’s root is hoarded by the few Yearning for more that can never be spent
As always, feel free to let me know what you thought in the comments.
